Spectrem 2 can be easily applied with conventional hand or air-powered caulking equipment. The sealant should be applied in a continuous operation, with adequate pressure to entirely fill the joint width and depth.

Tool the sealant with light pressure immediately after application to ensure positive and complete sealant contact with the joint interfaces. Tooling can be accomplished with a tooling stick or icing knife. Dry tooling is recommended.

Should masking be required to prevent contamination of adjacent surfaces, it is recommended that the masking tape be removed immediately after tooling and before the sealant skins over.

Spectrem 2 can be applied at outdoor temperatures as low as 0 degrees F provided that surfaces to which the sealant is to be applied are clean, dry and frost free. It is recommended, however, for best conditions and performance the sealant be applied at temperatures above 40 degrees F.
