Leaves lose water through evaporation and the roots replenish.
When the humidity is too low, the roots cannot keep up, and the
plant wilts. Combining a humidifier with a humidistat is a preventative
solution. A humidistat monitors the humidity level, and activates
the humidifier when the humidity is too low. The humidifier adds
moisture to the air, bringing the humidity to the desired level.
